This is exactly how to solve the latest technology problem in your late model vehicles…. Cassette tape decks are virtually as outdated as Betamax players…… however many late-model cars still come with factory installed cassette deck players. CD players lie on back shelves as iPods are all the rage. If you want to use your new iPod or MP3 player in your late model automobile but your car cassette player is not adapted for the audio input needed. This is easily taken care of when your car comes installed with a factory cassette player. Make sure you turn the radio down low and slide in the Sony cassette adapter into your cassette receiver. Once you connect the headphone jack into the Sony cassette adapter, simply hit shuffle on your iPod and enjoy the music as you cruise down the road.

I have purchased two of these units from Sony, they work well and sound awesome. I find these to be middle-of-the-road as far as pricing goes. Most Sony cassette adapters work the same as all others on the market and practically all sound the same. I don’t understand why people would pay more for a similar device.

Installation of a Sony cassette adapter is a snap. You can route the cables many ways, making the cassette deck adapter virtually unnoticeable in your automobile. I was able to route my Sony cassette adapter through my air conditioner and out the bottom of my dash making for a very clean install.

One important thing to remember when using the Sony cassette adapter is to disable your systems factory noise reduction circuitry. In my Honda Accord, the default is in the on position and every time I get in the vehicle; I constantly have to reset it to the off position. Another option is to leave the Sony cassette adapter always in the cassette deck player. This should not cause any harm to the vehicle’s factory installed radio.

Really the biggest complaint I’ve had with my Sony cassette adapter is that the sun caused the label on the cassette tape to peel off. This is now curled up and sometimes gets caught in the gate mechanism on my cassette player. The simple remedy to this was to just remove the label from the Sony cassette adapter.
